Impact-Resistant Warehouse Doors That Are Automated
Sliding doors that are automatic and that possess an impact-resistant property will support your warehouse workers' requirements to transfer equipment and merchandise from an outdoor setting to an indoor setting. Choose a door style that will not restrict visibility and that will provide protection from extreme temperatures.
Door Parts
Tempered glass panes that are set into a steel frame form a robust door style. A scratch-resistant coating and protruding frame parts will protect sliding warehouse doors from damages that could incur from airborne projectiles and the improper use of machinery. A warehouse door style that does not contain these protective features would be prone to scratches, dents, and other damages that are directly caused by the excessive force of weighted materials.
A warehouse door style that uses automated technology could include single door panels that open upward or slide horizontally and dual panels that slide apart horizontally. Since this type of door will not swing inward or outward, door parts will not interfere with the amount of space that is within the vicinity of either side of a warehouse door. This will ensure that there will be ample room for a forklift operator to move their vehicle forward or backward or turn heavy-duty equipment around on the dock or the area that leads out to it.
Sizing And Technology
Before you upgrade a door within your facility, consider the door that currently separates the warehouse from the dock. Is this door wide or tall enough to adequately support the use of all of the machinery that your workers need to use both indoors or outdoors? Have there been occasions in which the size of overweight freight has impeded a worker's ability to transport items in or out of the facility?
The answers to these questions can help you determine if the current door style will be adequate for the upgrade or if you need to choose an expanded door size. Automated doors may contain a sensor that is either built into a door or that is encased in a separate unit that will need to be installed over a door. The sensor will indicate when foot or vehicular traffic has approached a door.
Some impact-resistant warehouse doors contain a speed adjuster. With access to this type of feature, the speed at which a door opens or closes can be adjusted. If temperature-regulated items are stored within your warehouse, including perishable food products, you may want to invest in a door that can be adjusted to open and close quickly. This will prevent temperature loss within your facility.
